When he was a child he loved to paint and draw. Also I like to draw and paint so we've got this in common.
In the day he worked and in the evenings he learnt to paint pictures. He learnt to paint at Salford school of art (1915 to 1925).
Lowry painted on a white background because his teacher told him his paintings were too dark and now they're not.
Industrial scenes are about mills and factories.
Lowry missed his own train. He was watching people coming out of mills and he fort it would be brilliant to paint them. Also my Grandpa has one of his picture of people coming out of mills.
In 1921 Lowry showed his pictures in Manchester, England.
Exhibit means that you show something around.
Lowry had exhibitions in Manchester and London. When he was growing older he got fed up of painting mills and he started painting people. My grandpa has a picture of a person that Lowry painted.
The Lowry The Lowry
I sent a message to the Lowry and we asked why they're called the Lowry. They said that it's called the Lowry because they have the biggest collection from Lowry.
